Asian Faces: The Essential Beauty and Makeup Guide for Asian Women

I dont like this book at all. There was a black girl in the book. WHy it says asian faces? I dont know. that was the reason for me to buy it. I can see if that black girl was half asian or looked asian. But she was no where near. I think this book should be called womens faces not asian faces. Not worth it. I would never buy this book again.

Beauty knows no borders is the key message I got with this book.
Many thanks for this book from Taylor Chang-Babaian for a masterpiece book on best revealing Asian beauty techniques. Until the mid-1990′s beauty had one look in mainstream advertising: the All-American blue-eyed California blonde. Very little was around to give image tips for those women who would never look like that. With the Asian-American population in high numbers in the US and Canada this book is a wonderful message and practical advice for the generations of Asian-American and Asian-Canadian women who want to learn how to work with what they have. The author calls this book a labor of love and it truly is! A Must Have!
Until recently the ideal of North American and European beauty ads was the whole notion of making faces as close to the symmetrical ideal of the anglo-saxon mode. What’s a girl to do when her genes just will never allow her to be a blonde bombshell? One thing is to go with their natural look as much as possible. Apart from trends, Asian women have undergone surgery, tinted their hair caramel blonde, and worn blue eyeshadow plus all sorts of other techniques to adhere to the Western ideal. This book is for women who grew up not knowing how to work with their features instead of against it. It is like a re-education of sorts on working with color for olive skin tones. Great part of a beauty regime or makeover to become the best you possible. This was a lovely gift from my best friend when I was subsconsciously thinking that looking like Bardot was the only way to look smashing at a party. It was a helpful tool to metamorphosize back to working with the natural me. And one day I woke up and dyed my tinted copper tone hair back to natural black. This is a jewel! A side benefit to following the beauty prescriptions was that I found the dating game better – I found people who liked me for me – and it was a pleasant surprise!

The before/after pictures are amazing, although I’m sure the after are retouched. Still haven’t gotten the hang of fake lashes quite yet and disagree with the characterization of the New York look, but the book is very useful and concise.

Guys, get this for your girlfriend! mine asked for this book just before Christmas and wow what a difference. As a photographer, testing models for the local agencies I have seen all qualities of makeup. She took the book home looked it over and the very next day she used the techniques learned in this book and what a complete transformation. Her makeup keeps getting better every time I see her and she told me she hasn’t even bought new makeup yet. Don’t get me wrong she is a gorgeous Japanese woman when she wears no makeup and her makeup application was already pretty good but this book put it over the top. Go get it guys it’s totally worth it.
