Not even sure why I bought this, guess I was taken in by the description. Apparently this belt, when worn for up to an hour, somehow reduced your waistline temporarily. The belt heats up and you sort of ‘sweat it out’.

Well, it’s made to look really easy in the pictures, but it’s not easy, it’s a hassle. First you have to apply a gel (looks and feels just like cheap hair gel to me), then you wrap yourself in these plastic strips (basically cling film, like what you wrap your sandwhiches in except in narrower strips), and you’re supposed to be covered an inch above and below the belt with three layers of plastic. Then you put the belt on and because it’s supposed to sit flat, you either have to lie down flat or stand up (I didn’t fancy standing up for an hour). Then you flick the switch and it slowly heats up.

It wasn’t too uncomfortable, and according to my boyfriend who used it as a heat pack for his aching back, it’s nowhere near hot enough to have any effect on something like that (although I’m sure I saw a reference in the description to being able to use it to ease back pain). It felt a bit weird and began to get more uncomfortable after the first 10 minutes or so. It made my stomach ache and the feeling of being hot and wrapped in plastic is not pleasant.

In terms of actually reducing the measurement around my waist, I didn’t see a difference. I did, however, see some rather alarming red streaks across my stomach.

Overall, this is a gimmick and not worth buying. If it wasn’t such a hassle to use, it would be better.
