I have really (really) thick, long, dry hair which I only wash once every four days. It’s not greasy and when I wash it more often it just gets more dried out. (Is this wrong?)

So when a hair care product says use weekly, is it assuming that I wash my hair daily (I have friends that do) and that I should use it every 7 washes? Or should I use it once a week even if that means I’m using it every other wash?
