There are so many good products out there! Can anyone give advice on good face and body care for a 42 year old (today!) Thanks

Hi! I am a health and skin care consultant and would love to help you with some of the great products we have on skin care. The products that I have are tested on the most sensitive skin in this world by dividing the globe into 9 zones therefore you can be rest assured that they would work great on your skin. These products are concentrated and hence require only a small amount of application at a time and therefore last for almost 6 to 8 months. You can reach me at bhavneet2110@yahoo.com and I would love to provide you more information after I talk to you about the skin type and your daily regime to suggest the best fit product to you.

The best ones my mum is saying she has ever tried are the Estee Lauder products the range with the gold colours outside. They are for mature skins. You will need a really good firming cream and something for the pores. Try washing the face with St Ives apricot scrub. Apply Estee Lauder Future perfect cream (it comes for dry and oily skin) and apply finaly on your nose the Clinique serum for tight pores. You will find your face will look much more youthful. Use less makeup in more neutral colour and put blusher on the top of your cheeks at the highest point as you laugh with open mouth. Put concealer not only under the eyes but at the point where the nose joins the cheeks all along and you wil lfind that the whole face will look smoother. Use an oil of ulay night cream. Reduce your eyebrows from the outside and underneath and the whole face will look brighter.
    AND VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

It really depends on your skin condition, but as a general guide, at 42 the skin needs products to restore normality.
As a shopping guide – look for products that have a system that includes proper exfolation, correction and protection.
Some ingridients to look for include stable vitamin C, vitamin A, antioxidants and generally an AHA including lactic acid to smooth and exfoliate are the best.

I’m 42 as well and have done some experimenting over the last couple of years. the one thing I would really recommend is to use a serum morning and night. All the Estee Lauder ones are good but I like the Advanced Night Repair one in the brown glass bottle the best. Despite its name you can use it mornings too! I tried that Boots one that was on TV but it gave me spots. My favorite moisturiser is the Olay Regenerist one. The most expensive item in my kit is a Shiseido Eye and Lip Cream – it costs nearly £60 but has lasted 6 months so far and made a big difference.
I use a cheaper foaming face wash and cleanser by Simple and Nivea body lotion.
I have to say my skin looks better now than it did 5 years ago but I think that’s probably because I’ve stopped smoking!!

I actually just heard about a great treatment for mature women called Artefill, which clinically treats wrinkles. It’s something you’d want to talk to your dermitologist about, but my best friend had it done recently and she looks better than I’ve seen her in years. It’s a pretty simple treatment, too. They are even putting on a “Face Forward Makeover” contest right now, so it’s a great time to check it out. Here’s the link:
