why do my nails curl inwards?

Posted by | Nails | Saturday 13 March 2010 1:01 am

my nails have always grown really quickly, long and white, but they can be a bit brittle and flaky at the edges, i can help this with Vaseline Intensive Care Hand and Nail cream, but for some reason, some of them curl around at the edges, so that if you look from the end of my finger, rather than being ( shape they are [ (but less square! – if u know what i mean!) is there a reason they are growing in this shape? they arent cutting into the skin or anything

they normally chip and i cut them before they get this long as i work on building sites and they get mucky n broken, but ive been off work for a month and theyve grown so fast!!

i used to have a problem with ingrowing toenails when i was younger, if thats any help

    genetics? partly.

most people’s nails curl from a certain length on. you can only cut them to length and work on the sides so they don’t cut into your flesh.

    don’t worry, I’d say it’s pretty normal.
